Elizabeth graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Alberta, Canada in 1983 before enrolling as a mature student at the Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore and graduated with LL.B (Hons) in 1987. She chambered at Messrs Shook Lin & Bok and was called to the Singapore Bar on 11 May, 1988. She subsequently obtained M.B.A. (Accountancy) from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in 1993. Following which she joined financial services department of Messrs Allen & Gledhill as senior legal assistant. Elizabeth was also admitted to the Roll of Solicitors of the Supreme Court of England and Wales on 1 March 2001.

Elizabeth is the co-founder of Ho, Wong & Partners, a partnership of 20 years prior to conversion of the firm to Ho Wong Law Practice, LLC in 2014 where she is one of the Directors of the law corporation. She has diverse experience in corporate real estate and financing practice, corporate and commercial practice and shipping practice.

Elizabeth is an independent director of MYP Ltd.

Corporate Real Estate & Financing Practice
Over the years, Elizabeth has represented local and international investors in real estate and real estate related transactions including acquisitions, divestments and financing of residential and commercial properties through special purpose vehicles incorporated both onshore and offshore. She provides comprehensive services from the review and drafting of sale and purchase agreement, investigation of title, due diligence, mortgage and loan documentations. She also handles retail real estate transactions where she advises and acts for vendors and purchasers, the financing banks and the borrowers. She is also experienced in landlord and tenant transactions.

Corporate & Commercial Practice
Elizabeth advises on general corporate matters including establishing companies and operating businesses in Singapore. She has extensive experience in advising on, negotiating and drafting commercial arrangements including joint venture, agency and distribution, franchise, hotel management, and other service arrangements.

Her clients include prominent local and foreign businesses and multinational corporations.

Shipping Practice
Elizabeth also has extensive experience in domestic and cross-border shipping matters, negotiating, preparing sale and purchase contracts, ship management and service contracts and financing documents. She works with individual ship owners, investors and state own enterprises in acquisition of new built vessels by major yards in China, Japan and Vietnam as well as acquisition and sale of pre-owned vessels. She has extensive knowledge and works regularly with Indonesian ship owners and Indonesian banks on the financing and security documents. She is also regularly engaged in transactions involving China, Indonesia, Jamaica, Japan, Korea, Liberia, Malaysia, Marshall Islands, Panama, People’s Republic of China, United Kingdom and Vietnam flags.
